Preparation and composition of black tea

The real connoisseurs of tea consume and recommend the use of black tea without additives. If you do not like the taste of black tea, consuming tea with one sugar cube or a little honey is recommended. For even stronger aroma you can add to a black tea a stick o vanilla, little cinnamon or lemon juice.

  1. Heat the water until it boils
  2. Put 1 bag in one tea cup. If the tea is not in bags then put 2gr or 1 tea spoon in a cup
  3. Pour the tea using a filter (the longer the tea leafs stay in water the bitter it will be)
  4. Leave the cup for about 5 minutes
  5. After that you can start to enjoy drinking this tasty, healthy potion

Some consume black tea together with milk and sugar. This is not recommended. Namely, milk is rich in proteins, and sugar carbohydrates. Consuming tea with those additives many times a day burdens our digestive system, and especially the liver. For that reason consuming tea with both additives is not recommended.

In composition black tea is similar to green tea. The biggest difference is in caffeine which is the result of oxidation (the longer the oxidation period the higher the caffeine level).

Because it contains the most caffeine of all teas 2-4% many use black tea as a beverage that they use to give up coffee. A very good example for that is the fact that the cup of coffee contains somewhere between 150-200mg of caffeine, and cup of black tea contains somewhere between 50-75 mg of cafffeine. Drinking black tea instead of coffee can considerably reduce input of caffeine and help to give up drinking coffee easier.

In sale it can be found in bags or in leafs. It is important to pay attention to the packaging in which the tea is located. Black tea is more resistant than other teas for longer preservation.

If you intend to preserve black tea for a longer period you have to know a couple of rules

Black tea and other teas must be placed in special containers. Containers made from porcelain, glass or tin boxes. These are containers that are hermetically sealed.

Tea must be kept in a cold and dry place without the influence of moisture (kitchen is a bad place to keep tea).

In the end, keeping reserves for a longer period of time is not recommended because it loses quality.
